The Tour

You are cordially inivited to join us across the pond for the best gathering of the new year---lively discussions, great company and truly extraordinary theatre.

 It’s too early to tell exactly what we’ll see, but we have just secured tickets to the most in demand show in London's new season---King Lear at the Donmar Warehouse, starring Derek Jacobi. 

And that's just for starters.

We’ll manage a short expedition to some very special place just out of town, we’ll invite a few very special guests (past visitors have included Tom Stoppard, Janet McTeer, Michael Frayn, and Simon Russell Beale).

We’ll arrange a special dinner at a very good restaurant with a lovely room in one of London’s most famous restaurants.  There’s plenty to time to take in all the museums, galleries, exhibitions and concerts that flood the city at this time of year.  And best of all, the London Tour attracts wonderful people who get to know each other and talk to each other. 

Each morning Murray Ross, our Artistic Director, will preview the evening’s show and lead a group discussion of what we’ve seen.  For many these gatherings are what make this unbeatable tour so very special

The Price

The Flight

For those departing from Denver, we are planning to fly on BA Flight 218, departing Denver at 5:20 p.m. and arriving into London Heathrow at 9:05 a.m. We plan to return on January 16 on BA Flight 219 departing London Heathrow at 12:35 p.m. and arriving into Denver at 3:25 p.m.

Transfers

Round Trip transfers will be provided from Colorado Springs to Denver and from London Heathrow to the Guoman Charing Cross.  This service is guaranteed only for those traveling on the BA Flight. 

If you are traveling from another city, we cannot guarantee that there will be a flight that will arrive in time for the scheduled transfers.  We are happy to assist you with transfer options. 

The Hotel

We will again stay in the Guoman Charing Cross, a fine hotel right in the heart of the west end, within easy walking distance of most theaters, the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, and the Thames.

Not-So Fine Print

• Please understand that the cost of the tour less the estimated fair market value of the goods and services received is a contribution to UCCS/THEATREWORKS and may be tax deductible. It is estimated that the contribution will be $500 per person.  This contribution is considered unrestricted and will be used to further the activities of  THEATREWORKS which include, but are not limited to, funding THEATREWORKS activities, administrative overhead, entertainment and donor appreciation functions (food, beverage, alcohol), etc. The University of Colorado is a not-for-profit organization-Tax ID #84-6000555.
